Each instructor brings a unique blend of experience, creativity, and passion to the studio. More than just dancers, they are mentors dedicated to guiding students of all levels with patience, encouragement, and care.

From classical technique to contemporary styles, our faculty fosters a supportive and inspiring environment where every dancer can grow and shine.

Director

Savanna Hanks

Savanna Hanks is the founder and director of Camp Pendleton Academy of Dance. She began her dance training at the age of three in Mesa, Arizona, and has since dedicated her life to the art of movement and performance.
Savanna is extensively trained in ballet, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, acro dance, tumbling, cheer, gymnastics, jazz, musical theatre, clogging, and tap. In April 2021, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Brigham Young University, where she performed with the prestigious Contemporary Dance Theatre and DancEnsemble.
Her teaching journey has taken her across the country, with experience at Rhythm and Motion Dance Center, Daje Dance Academy, Dance Theatre of Jacksonville, and Lejeune Dance Company. She holds certifications in Acrobatic Arts and Alixa Flexibility, and is passionate about offering safe, technical, and creative dance education to every student.
In addition to her teaching and performance background, Savanna is experienced behind the scenes, having served on BYU’s stage crew and worked extensively in production. She takes pride in creating well-organized and inspiring performances for dancers and their families.
As both a mother and mentor, Savanna brings warmth, professionalism, and a deep love of dance into everything she does. She is honored to share her passion with the Camp Pendleton community and looks forward to helping each dancer grow in confidence, creativity, and skill.

Administrative Assistant 

Désireé Billings 

Désireé is a dedicated administrative professional, proud military spouse, and loving mother. With a strong background in organization and communication, she ensures that families at CPAOD feel supported and connected while helping the studio run smoothly behind the scenes.
Her experience balancing family, community, and military life has shaped her into a reliable and resourceful team member. She brings warmth, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for supporting both dancers and their families.
Désireé is thrilled to be part of the Camp Pendleton Academy of Dance team and looks forward to contributing to a positive experience for every CPAOD family.

Instructor 

Téa Orr

 Téa was raised in Bakersfield, California where she began dancing competitively at the age of nine, training in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Acro, and Lyrical. She graduated from San Diego State University with a B.F.A in Dance and a B.A in Psychology: Emphasis in Neuroscience. Her teaching experience began in her early teenage years as an assistant instructor which later led to teaching independently at her home studio.

 

Téa believes every child is unique and is dedicated to creating a fun and supportive environment for her students to discover their individuality while building strong technique.

 

She is grateful to share her passion and love for dance with the next generation!
